WHY WE HAVE LOST THE JOY OF CHRISTMAS
- Money Has Taken Over The Holiday
- Myths Have Taken Over The Holiday - Christmas should be about:
- Christ, and not a Character
- Calvary's Tree, and not a Christmas Tree
- Christ's Empty Grave, not a Christian's Earthly Gifts.
- Men Have Taken Over The Holiday
- They have changed it - new name, music, etc.
- They have conformed it - worldliness
- They have criticized it - argue the date of birth, claim pagan origins, etc.
3.3 bothers me the most. I know the world is greedy and the love of money creates opportunity for evil; I know local traditions have infiltrated and become rooted. I know non-believers have been instrumental in 3.1 and believes have become enmeshed in 3.2.
ReplyDeleteBut 3.3 appears to be internal arguments that are divisive. Do such arguments glorify Christ, or weaken a brother?
But when ye sin so against the brethren, and wound their weak conscience, ye sin against Christ. (1 Corinthians 8:12 KJV)
Spend Christmas with the story of God's Messiah come to save, share the love of the Lord who loved us first. Celebrate the life provided that we might live. And express love for our fellow Christians:
And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also. (1 John 4:21 KJV)
